Transparent Paper Collage
Collages in this class will start with plain white tissue. Students will then paint and texturize the tissue in various ways, creating their own unique transparent collage papers. Fibers, strings and various inclusions will help make these papers unique! Students will then layer their hand-decorated papers with other transparent and decorative papers to create a unique collage. The layers of transparency give the collages a visual depth that cannot be duplicated by using store bought papers!
Supply List
- 1” paint brush made for acrylics (a golden nylon brush is highly recommended)
- 12” x 12” canvas
- Water container
- Box of tall kitchen garbage bags
- Cabinet card or other image for focal point of collage
- Any other decorative elements you might want to include (some will be provided)
