Silent Words Calligraphic Retreat

2 Day Class Learn how to work with calligraphy and acrylic media on a stretched canvas. After lots of experimentation I have finally figured out how to combine my acryllc painting techniques with my calligraphy on stretched canvas! The class will learn how to prepare the canvas and paints and write over acrylic glazes. We will work on layering techniques, combining various sizes and styles of letterforms on top of each other. Styles will include your own handwriting and other broad edged pen styles that you are comfortable with. This is not a good surface for historical pointed pen styles but is a beautiful surface for writing with a Brause or Tape nib. Textural techniques will be introduced if the class wishes to add that to their calligraphic works.
