Play with Polymer Paints In this class students will work on both canvas and paper, layering handwriting and calligraphy with acrylic media and possibly textures. Participants will use their own words or will respond to the words of other writers, either in prose or poetry. Rhythmic writing and handwriting will be combined with acrylic painting techniques to form a layered calligraphic work. Learning to work on canvas with acrylic media is an integral part of the class, which will also explore the addition of metallic leaf to the canvas. Students will produce practice assignments in an art journal and will move forward to develop a final piece of work. Students who are not experienced calligraphers may choose to use their own handwriting in their pieces.
